This is a truly massive Dunhill from 1976, the rare 622. There's a great article on this shape in Pipedia written by John Loring and Rich Esserman. What's interesting is the 622 they reference is actually a little smaller than this one. The 622 is not far off from the famous LC in terms of bowl shape and size but not quite as much of a pronounced swan neck. Apparently Dunhill had a stockpile of large blocks and in 1976 decided to make some large pipes! This massive Shell will easily smoke for 3-4 hours. The blast shows awesome starburst and birds-eye grain. The shank has a lovely bend to it with original long saddle stem with fishtail bit. This is a very special pipe not easily found. A true collectors piece.
