Virgin Sweeping Dublin
SOLDI'm really excited about this piece. It is the first pipe to be blasted using a pencil blaster with a super fine tip. The results are amazing! I still have a lot to learn about blasting with this new set-up. It is easy to take too much off, changing the shape of the wood. It took some hours to get shape just right. The blasting process cuts and burns away at the wood, so I then blasted the pipe over again with my standard set up on low pressure, and it cleaned up a treat. I left the wood in it's natural state and then waxed it to protect the wood from dirt and oils from handling. I have another similar pipe that has been pencil blasted with similar results, so look for it next week! The cumberland stem is hand cut from rod, and is 4 mm behind the button for a superbly comfortable bite. A cleaner passes easily.
