Long shanked Strawberry
SOLDThis pipe was made from a block of what I call "red briar". I call it red briar because the wood is naturally reddy coloured and it is very hard. There are streaks of dense grain that almost refuse to be blasted to bring out the rings. To make up for the shallow blast, I try to bring out the grain with a double staining process. This method involves blasting, colouring with a dark stain, re-blasting, and applying a light stain on top. So, you get to see both grain and shallow blast rings. The shank adornment is Rosewood and the the stem is cumberland.
